TAIPEI, Nov 7 — Model and actress Chiling Lin has decided to take legal action against weekly, Next Magazine, after the publication linked her to an international prostitution ring that is currently under investigation by Taiwan and United States authorities.

Taipei Times named the alleged madam of the ring as Tai Chun-yi.

She is said to have procured starlets as travel companions for wealthy businessmen clients from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and the US.

During a raid, the authorities are said to have seized a notebook, in which Tai described in graphic detail sexual encounters between the starlets and their clients.

In an interview with Next Magazine, two women who worked for Tai, told the publication that the madam had often bragged about arranging business dinners for Lin, and claimed credit for the model’s popularity.

Lin said, in a statement issued through her agent, that she did not know Tai.

The model said: “The media’s hearsay and aimless speculation have dealt severe blows and done injury to personal dignity.”

She said legal action would be taken against false reports.

Next Magazine sparked a guessing game in Taiwan on Wednesday, after it published a redacted version of Tai’s alleged roster of starlets and clients.

The list was heavily littered with clues as to the identities of the individuals involved, and ranked the individuals according to their level of fame.

Within the prostitution ring, the women were allegedly divided into six categories according to how famous they were, and each category charged a different price.

The four A-list stars who topped the list are said to have charged NT$2 million (RM267,000) or more for sexual services.

According to Straits Times, they are: “Big Sister L”, a highly visible model who has become a movie actress; “Big Sister S”, a model who has acted in a popular idol drama and films, “C”, an actress who shot to stardom with a movie and switched to a television career in China, and “Y”, a model who has acted in many idol dramas.

In its report, Next Magazine also published the initials and nicknames of clients.

Among the 18 clients are “K”, a Taiwan tech magnate, “H”, a self-made tycoon who is married to a Chinese star, “C”, a Macau casino and movie magnate, “Old heavenly king K”, a Hong Kong superstar who acts and sings, “King of spades”, a Hong Kong moviemaker with countless works, and “Fatty L”, a Hong Kong tycoon who has been linked to Taiwan stars.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office declined to comment on the lists, Straits Times added.
