KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — If you’re into neo-soul, hip hop, R&B and classic soul, then you will be pleased to know that Soulfest Asia — will have R&B and soul legend Mary J Blige, hip-hop talents De La Soul and Talib Kweli, as well as Grammy-nominated neo-soul songstress Jhene Aiko — debut in Malaysia for the very first time.

Soulfest debuted last year in Australia and now, the event series is making its Asian debut starting with Malaysia as the host for the very first Soulfest Asia.

Apart from the renowned international names which will be headlining the musical event, there will also be several regional and local acts included, such as Thai-American hip hop trio Thaitanium, Singapore-based rapper Shigga Shay and also Malaysia’s very own homegrown talents Joe Flizzow, SonaOne, Altimet as well as the entire Kartel family, soul singer Najwa Mahiaddin, and also indie hip-hop group Raising the Bar.

Taking place at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre on October 17, the festival will run from 3pm to midnight.
