KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — GrabFood has expanded its Saver Delivery option to additional cities nationwide, allowing more users to enjoy a delivery fee from as low as RM1, starting from February 28.
In a statement today, GrabFood said Saver Delivery was first piloted in November 2022, which enables customers to order from the widest range of restaurants on the platform in exchange for a slightly longer delivery time.
“Grab does this by grouping orders in the same direction a delivery-partner will travel. This means the Saver Delivery option will only appear for orders from eligible merchants, depending on the time and location.
“In addition to being a more cost-efficient option for customers, delivery-partners earnings will not be affected, as they will be compensated for these deliveries,” it said.
The company added that the expansion of Saver Delivery also sees the introduction of Direct Delivery in the revamped delivery options, which provides a shorter delivery time for consumers who are in a rush to receive their orders.
“Together with these new options, features such as being able to schedule your order and opt for self-pick-up aim to provide consumers with a wide range of convenient options to get their meals,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Grab Malaysia Commercial and Deliveries director Tan Jiong Jian said that by making food delivery more accessible for consumers and catering to varied types of eaters, the revamped delivery options will also benefit GrabFood delivery-partners and merchant-partners alike by spurring additional income opportunities.
