KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — The Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) is expected to announce its decision on whether to close its operations nationwide following the extension of the movement control order (MCO) to April 14, 2020.
In a statement, CCM said this temporary closure of operations will involve CCM’S counter, online, e-aduan, kiosk and call centre services until the end of the MCO period.
“All transactions under the Companies Act 2016, Registration of Businesses Act 1956 and Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012 should be submitted to the Registrar after the MCO ends.
“A two-week moratorium is given after the end of the MCO to enable applications or submissions to be made. During the moratorium period, the late submission fee is waived,” it said.
CCM said companies wishing to postpone their annual general meeting to a date later than six months after the end of their financial year may submit their application after the end of the MCO period.
It said it is constantly monitoring the latest developments around the Covid-19 outbreak as announced by the government, and will inform the relevant public authorities about matters involving CCM.
“CCM’s operations will return to normal after the end of the MCO period, subject to the latest directive issued by the government,” it said, adding further details may be obtained from its portal as well as its social media feeds. — Bernama
