PARIS, June 6 — Rothschild & Co agreed to merge with Compagnie Financiere Martin Maurel to create a French private bank with €34.3 billion (RM159.556 billion) in assets under management.

The new entity will operate as Rothschild Martin Maurel in France, the companies said in a joint statement today. 

The boards of the two banks have agreed on the deal, which is still subject to shareholder approval, the companies said. — Reuters
