KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 — Short-term interbank rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)’s intervention to absorb excess liquidity from the financial system.
The central bank estimated today’s liquidity at RM29.64 billion in the conventional system and RM7.98 billion in Islamic funds.
BNM will conduct a conventional money market range maturity auction tender of RM4 billion for five to 30 days and a RM600 million repo tender for 47 days.
It will also conduct a Commodity Murabahah Programme Islamic range maturity auction of RM500 million for 21 to 30 days, as well as, two Al-Wadiah tenders comprising RM1.2 billion for seven days and RM2.4 billion for 14 days.
At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM25.0 billion conventional overnight tender and a RM3.9 billion Al-Wadiah overnight tender. — Bernama
