KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 — Short-term interbank rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) intervention to absorb excess liquidity from the financial system.
The central bank estimated today’s liquidity at RM22.88 billion in the conventional system and RM9.60 billion in Islamic funds.
BNM will conduct a conventional money market tender of RM500 million for seven days.
It will also conduct two repo tenders of RM500 million for 31 days and RM800 million for 46 days, as well as, two Al-Wadiah tenders of RM1.25 billion and RM2.3 billion for seven days and 14, respectively.
At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM21.1 billion in conventional overnight tenders and an RM6.1 billion Al-Wadiah overnight tender. — Bernama
