KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Short-term interbank rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) intervention to absorb excess liquidity from the financial system.

BNM estimated today’s liquidity at RM17.921 billion in the conventional system and RM4.082 billion in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct conventional money market tenders comprising RM500 million for seven days and RM1 billion for 28 days, as well as repo tenders of RM400 million for 31 days and RM200 million for 92 days.

It will also call for a RM1.4 billion Al-Wadiah tender for two days to 14 days.

At 4 pm, it will conduct up to RM15.8 billion conventional overnight tender and RM2.7 billion for Al-Wadiah overnight tender. — Bernama
