KOTA BARU, July 30 — Microfinance provider Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) in Kelantan is targeting to provide RM400 million in credit to those eligible this year.

Kelantan Regional AIM manager Roslan Pakon said as at last May, RM121.2 million worth of micro credit had been issued to 17,803 participants in the state.

"From the total, business partner project recorded the highest amount of loans at RM50.6 million with 6,377 business partners," he told Bernama here.

He said since 1990, AIM had given out more than RM2.5 billion as capital to 551,495 partners in Kelantan.

He said from the middle of last March, AIM had revised its household income qualifying condition to RM3,050 or a per capita income of RM610 a month compared to RM2,300 or per capita income of RM460 previously.

In another development, he said Kelantan AIM had been divided into two regions from early July, namely North Kelantan and South Kelantan regions.
