KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were lower at mid-morning today on profit-taking in selected heavyweights ahead of the Hari Raya holidays next week, dealers said.   

At 11.06am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 6.74 points weaker at 1,870.31 points.   

Losers led gainers by 386 to 271 with 302 counters unchanged, 676 untraded and 39 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 709.2 million shares worth RM469.38 million.       

Among actives, Scomi rose two sen to 41.5 sen, Heng Huat jumped 11 sen to 56 sen and Mexter Technology gained 1.5 sen to 14 sen.

Talam Transform was flat at 12 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank was one sen lower at RM9.90, Public Bank fell eight sen to RM19.92, TNB lost 12 sen to RM12.44 and Axiata dipped two sen to RM6.83.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index declined 31.83 points to 17,297.07, Plantation Index erased 33.19 points to 9,030.39 and the Industrial Index shed 5.83 points to 3,242.05.   

The FBM Emas Index decreased 37.01 points to 13,065.27, the FBMT100 Index went down 38.41 points to 12,643.06, the FBM Ace was 17.82 points weaker at 7,040.84 and the FBM 70 slipped 16.11 points to 14,363.49. ― Bernama
