KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mixed at mid-afternoon today despite firmer regional markets, dealers said.
At 3pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.6 of a point higher at 1,883.75 after opening 0.62 of a point better at 1,883.77.
However, market breadth was negative as losers led gainers 415 to 314 with 351 counters unchanged, 556 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.56 billion shares worth RM1.16 billion.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index increased 36.92 points to 17,507.49, the Plantation Index dipped 54.521 points to 9,107.55 and the Industrial Index declined 6.53 points to 3,237.28.
The FBM Emas Index gained 0.97 of a point for 13,118.31, the FBMT100 Index decreased 1.26 points to 12,720.87, the FBM Ace rose 19.83 points to 6,774.16 and the FBM 70 slipped 21.95 points to 14,401.81.
Among actives, Sumatec Resources added four sen to 41.5 sen, Dagang Nexchange fell 1.5 sen to 30.5 sen and JAKS gained 1.5 sen for 79.5 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank was unchanged at RM10.00, Public Bank rose four sen to RM20.12 and Tenaga lost six sen to RM12.48. — Bernama
