KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 — Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has today dismissed allegations that PAS is leaving the federal opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional (PN).
In a brief response, the Islamist party's deputy president said there were no such talks within PAS.
"No such thing. It has never been brought up,” Tuan Ibrahim told reporters at the Parliament here.
The rumour resurfaced yesterday after PAS' top leaders did not attend its PN ally Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's annual general meeting (AGM) which closed yesterday.
Tuan Ibrahim said their absence was due to clashes in dates, as PAS also have several events over the weekend.
"Actually we had already informed [Bersatu]. There was an invite but coincidentally PAS divisions had their annual general meetings too, some of us were at these divisions to officiate their meetings.
"Even myself, I was at five divisions, I’ve checked with my colleagues, they too were doing the same," he said.
Yesterday, Bersatu delegates from all over the country attended the party’s delayed assembly to show solidarity with their president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after he was charged in court with money laundering party funds and corruption last week.
