PUTRAJAYA, May 23 — Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today said that it is a compulsory requirement for all government officers attending meetings to take their own Covid-19 test samples.
He said this has helped to detect one officer who tested positive for Covid-19 after attending the recent post-Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“The officer in question has been admitted into the hospital for isolation and treatment. We are already conducting active contact tracing with the main focus being on the officer’s family members,” Dr Noor Hisham said during the daily press conference.
He added that 35 other officers also attended the same meeting. Swab samples and screenings conducted on came back negative.
