KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — Malaysians may just get to watch the World Cup “live” on local television when the global football tournament kicks off June 14.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said today that RTM is mulling providing live telecast of World Cup and that he supports the move as it will provide additional revenue to the national broadcaster.
“I am supportive of the live telecast as it will allow more Malaysians to enjoy the telecast and increase revenue for RTM,” he told reporters after visiting state news agency Bernama.
He added that he will bring it up at the next Cabinet meeting this Wednesday.
