KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — The website of the National Audit Department failed moments after Auditor-General Tan Sri Madinah Mohamad announced the availability of the executive summary to the audit report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

The website barely lasted minutes after Madinah issued a statement to say the document was no longer classified under the Official Secrets Act.

Some users were able to obtain the summary prior to the website’s failure and have since rehosted it elsewhere.

The report was prepared by Madinah’s predecessor, Tan Sri Ambrin Buang, on the orders of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has ordered a fresh probe into the state investment firm, and said he expects to charge Najib over the corruption scandal soon.
