ALOR SETAR, May 10 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has yet to announce its mentri besar candidate even though it won 18 of the 36 state seats up for grabs in GE14.
Barisan Nasional (BN) won 3 and Pas 15 resulting in a hung state assembly.
“We are still waiting to get the full mandate and appointment letter from party leadership. We still cannot announce our Mentri Besar designate,” said Kedah PH chairman Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir at a press conference earlier.
Typically, the swearing-in of the new mentri besar takes place immediately but the Sultan of Kedah’s private secretary Datuk Elmi Yusoff said in a statement today the ceremony has been postponed.
