KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to make a special announcement tonight, just hours before Malaysia votes tomorrow.

In a brief remark, the Prime Minister’s Office said the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman will reveal a “good and special news” for the public in the announcement.

Najib will be addressing Malaysians “live” from Pekan, Pahang through broadcasts via public channels RTM’s TV1, TV2, TV3 and also through HyppTV, BernamaTV and Astro’s Awani channel.

His rival Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who leads Opposition pact Pakatan Harapan, will also address the country via “live” streaming at the same time.

It is the final hours of campaigning for the Najib-led BN, as election rules only allow for campaigning up to midnight before Polling Day.

Earlier in his latest blog post today, Najib urged Malaysians to give him the mandate so he can ensure that no one will be left behind on the road towards prosperity.
