KLANG, May 6 — He may not be an academic overachiever, but the creativity of Alif, an average 12-year-old Year 6 pupil at SK Pendamaran Jaya in Port Klang, has been a welcome viral topic over the last few days.

It all started with a Facebook post by his Physical Education and Information Technology and Communications teacher, Haiqal Iskandar who posted Alif’s illustrations which soon started making its rounds both on Facebook and Twitter.

“Not an achiever academically, in last class, rarely talks in class, but his imagination and talents in creative arts like wow!” posted Haiqal.

“I’m amazed at how he is able to draw anything he watched on tv, videos or elsewhere. And even created his own animation characters.”

According to Haiqal, whose posting has garnered over 900 shares and over 2,300 reactions — Alif has many books packed with countless drawings.

A Twitter user by the handle of @BalqisSidiqia reposting Haiqal’s post has meanwhile turned it into even more of a viral phenomenon, garnering over 28,000 retweets with over 21,000 likes.

Speaking to Malay Mail, Haiqal said Alif’s talent was indeed a marvel, with many commenting that the young boy should be enrolled into an art school with his talent.
