KUANTAN, May 1 — The task of serving the people is not something foreign to Barisan Nasional’s (BN) new candidate for the Indera Mahkota parliamentary seat.

Datuk Dr Johan Mat Sah, popularly known as the ‘people’s doctor’ by residents of Indera Mahkota, has been a medical practitioner for 28 years before venturing into politics.

“I have been serving the community for the past four years after becoming a member of the Indera Mahkota Umno branch committee.

“If given the trust to represent them, apart from focusing on serving the community, I also aim to help more and more needy people by providing assistance to chronic patients as well as contributing to orphans and single mothers.

“At the same time, we will bring in more high-impact economic projects to create more job opportunities for young people,” he told Bernama when met at the ‘Titik Sentuh Rakyat Ziarah Kasih Kemas’ programme here today.

The BN candidate for the Semambu state seat, Quek Tai Seng, also participated in the programme. — Bernama
