KAMPAR, April 24 — Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate for Keranji pledged to solve the area’s flood problems if he wins in the 14th general election.

Daniel Wa, 30, accused incumbent assemblyman Chen Fook Chye of not doing anything to solve the problem.

“Flooding is getting worse. Just like earlier, flash floods hit several areas following a downpour,” he said at a rally last night.

“I promise if I become the elected representative, I will help to solve flood problems in the area,” he said.

“Can the voters give this young man a chance?” asked the 30-year-old before the 3,000-strong crowd replied with a resounding yes.

Wa will run alongside Datuk Lee Chee Leong, who is contesting the Kampar parliamentary constituency, and Chang Gwo Chyang, who will stand in the Malim Nawar state seat.

The three will face DAP’s Chong Zemin, Thomas Su and Leong Cheok Keng respectively.

The state is currently under BN rule.
