KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — A senior manager of a marine engineering company has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged corruption involving RM190,000.
A MACC source said the 48-year-old suspect was alleged to have received the money in bribes for repair work of LNG vessels at a dock supervised by the company between 2011 and 2012.
The suspect was called to the MACC office in Johor to record his statement and he was detained at 12.30 pm today, he said.
Meanwhile, MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki, when contacted, confirmed the arrest and that the case was being investigated under Section 6 (a) (A) of the MACC Act 2009. — Bernama
