IPOH, April 10 — Police said they have busted a gang that targeted senior citizens here with two arrests.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Ali Tamby said his agency is still hunting another gang member.

“Both gangs have been active since early this year and we believe, with their arrest, at least four cases have been solved,” he said.

Speaking to reporters at the district police station, Mohd Ali said the gang was broken up on April 7 when the suspects, aged 42 and 56, were arrested at Menglembu and Sungai Siput, respectively.

Mohd Ali said police also recovered items taken during a robbery at Taman Ipoh Jaya on April 5 at both suspects’ homes, adding that police had obtained a seven-day remand order against the duo until Friday.

In a separate arrest, two members of Gang Vinod were arrested at a house in Buntong yesterday evening.
