PEKAN, April 7 — Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob today announced the dissolution of the 13th Pahang State Legislative Assembly effective today to enable the state election to be held simultaneously with the 14th general election (GE14).

Adnan said the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah had given his consent to dissolve the Pahang assembly.

“I was granted an audience by the Regent at 12.30pm and he had signed the consent.

“The document had been handed to Pahang Speaker (Datuk Seri Ishak Muhammad) who will hand it over to the Election Commission (EC),” he told reporters when met at Istana Abu Bakar here today.

He also said Pahang Barisan Nasional (BN) would announce its manifesto on Wednesday at Yayasan Pahang Complex in Kuantan. 

“The Pahang BN manifesto had been sent to the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak),” he said.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced the dissolution of Dewan Rakyat effective today to enable GE14 to be held at a date determined by the EC.

Pahang has 42 state seats and at the time of dissolution, BN was holding 30 seats, DAP (seven), PAS (two), PKR (two) and Amanah (one). — Bernama
