KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 ― The proposed law against “fake news” will be used against Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak if Pakatan Harapan (PH) wins the next election, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.

At a protest against the redelineation report that will be tabled in Parliament this morning, the PH chairman said his coalition would ask Najib to face the courts to prove the alleged millions in the prime minister’s bank account.

“When we rule, the law will come back to bite him.

Dr Mahathir accused Najib of falsely declaring the source of money and said the latter would be punished under the Anti-Fake News Bill that has been criticised by Opposition politicians and civil society as an attack on freedom of expression.
