KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has declined PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s offer for the former to contest the latter’s Gombak parliamentary seat in the 14th general elections.
The Star reported the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman saying he will continue to contest in either Langkawi, Kubang Pasu or Putrajaya.
“Yes. Thank you very much. But I have already decided,” the former prime minister replied when asked about Azmin’s offer.
On Saturday, Azmin had made the offer on Twitter, saying he is willing to do so if his party agrees to it.
Saya bersedia memberi laluan kepada Tun @chedetofficial di Parlimen Gombak sekiranya dipersetujui oleh KEADILAN. Mari membingkai muafakat demi rakyat.
