KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 ― Over 30 witnesses have been called to facilitate a probe into the deadly Tanjung Bungah landslide that claimed the lives of 11 construction site workers.
The Star reported the Penang Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) deputy director Idris Abdul Rahman saying that the department in the midst of completing the investigation papers on the incident.
“More than 30 witnesses have been called. We have also seized vital documents from companies involved in the project.
“We will forward it to the Attorney-General's Chambers by the end of the month, for it to decide on further action,” Idris was quoted saying in a press conference, after launching a seminar on occupational safety.
The Penang government has also formed a State Commission of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the landslide and those responsible.
On October 21, the landslide at the Granito @ Permai high-rise condominium work site killed 11.
