In a show of support for the initiative, the ministry and Mara will display the Negaraku logo on their vehicles and have their staff wear a badge bearing the logo.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who launched the cooperation on the Negaraku initiative here today, attached the Negaraku logo on buses of the ministry and Mara in a symbolic gesture to signal the start of the cooperation.

Communications and Multimedia Minister and Chairman of the Negaraku initiative, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also attended the event.

The Negaraku initiative, a brainchild of Najib, is aimed at fostering patriotism in the people nationwide.

The Health Ministry, in a statement, said that initially the ministry would display the Negaraku sticker on vehicles such as ambulances and mobile clinics.

It would affix the sticker on all ministry vehicles nationwide in stages and distribute the badge bearing the logo to all uniformed staff as a symbolic gesture that the ministry fully supported the Negaraku initiative, it said.

The ministry has also decided to use #SihatNegaraku as the official ministry hashtag for this year.

Mara, in its statement, said the agency would display the Negaraku logo on the Mara Liner Sdn Bhd service, involving 51 express buses, 237 rural buses and 1,700 official vehicles of the 533 Mara administrative centres in the country and abroad, including the Mara educational institutions.

Ismail Sabri said Mara would implement specific programmes to instil patriotism and love for the country.

The effort to foster the Negaraku spirit in the Mara community would involve the 7,228 Mara-guided traders and every Mara corporate social responsibility programme, he said.

“All agencies and premises under the ministry will use the Negaraku logo in stages,” he said when approached by reporters after the event. — Bernama
