PUTRAJAYA, March 26 — The Higher Education Ministry will not compromise with any drug activities involving students of higher education institutions.
Referring to media reports on the arrest three undergraduates allegedly involved in trafficking of cannabis last Thursday, the ministry said it viewed the case seriously.
The ministry said the university concerned had taken action by suspending the three students involved from their studies until the case is disposed of by the court.
It said it would also fully cooperate with the police in resolving the case.
Last Thursday, police arrested three undergraduates for drug possession in a raid on a hostel room at a public higher education institution in Serdang.
In the 10.30am raid, the three suspects, all aged 22, were detained after police found five packets of compressed slabs of dried leaves, believed to be cannabis, weighing 1.2 kg worth RM2,500. — Bernama
