KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 — With their planned debate moved to another date, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz had a chat over cendol in Kuala Kangsar today instead.
According to a report by Malaysiakini, the two caught up after minister Nazri met Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) entourage at Dataran Sayong Lembah there.
Besides the former prime minister, PPBM deputy president and his son Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, and Dr Mahathir’s wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali were also present at the friendly meet.

Nazri had earlier turned up at the Sultan Azlan Shah MARA Junior Science College (MRSM), the initial venue for a debate between him and Dr Mahathir, after previously pledging that he would still attend the debate despite opposition by the police.
The debate has since been postponed to April 7 in Shah Alam.
On Tuesday, the police had disallowed a debate between federal minister Nazri and PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir, claiming the application for a permit by the organisers was done at the last minute.
Kuala Kangsar police district chief ACP Ahmad Termizi Abd Haq said the application should have been made 10 days before the event on March 25, according to the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
Nazri, the Malaysian tourism and culture minister agreed to debate Dr Mahathir in his home constituency of Padang Rengas when the senior leader visits the area as part of his nationwide campaign for PPBM.
