SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is offering attractive discounts to encourage first-time home buyers to buy properties under the agency’s purview.
The scheme — 1st Ownership — will see buyers getting a 10 per cent discount on the offer price.
The downpayment and fees for the sales and purchase agreement (SPA) and memorandum of transfer (MOT) will be absorbed by PKNS.
PKNS chief executive officer Noraida Mohd Yusof said the scheme is open to everyone as part of the agency’s move to encourage citizens to purchase homes.
She said this after launching the Hari Mesra Pelanggan PKNS event in Shah Alam on Sunday. Also present were chief operations executive Norita Sidek and chief corporate executive Siti Zubaidah Jaabad.
Noraida said another scheme is the loyalty programme launched early in February to enable home owners to purchase a second property from PKNS-approved projects.
“People who have purchased a house from PKNS can enjoy this second home scheme, and will earn a 12 per cent discount,” she said.
“The MOT and SPA fees will also be absorbed by PKNS.”
She said the cash rebate would give buyers an opportunity to purchase homes despite the country’s present economic situation.
“We hope these sales packages and incentives will reduce the burden of potential home buyers while boosting the sales of housing projects developed by PKNS,” she said.
Noraida said members of the public who were interested to purchase units from any of the developments must do so immediately as the offer is for a limited period.
“For housing projects which have been developed, these schemes will be available for only six months. People can choose to register and book their units from now until July 31,” she said.
“Projects which are still in the midst of being launched will be available for purchase until the end of December.”
However, Noraida said, the availability of both schemes, for both the projects, might be extended depending on the response.
“We will consider continuing with these schemes if we obtain good response for all of the projects which we have launched and will be launched,” she said.
She said the housing projects which had been developed by PKNS are at Alam Nusantara, Antara Gapi, Kota Puteri and Bernam Jaya.
PKNS is targeting to sell 80 per cent of the units of both the housing projects, since they are aimed at reducing the burden of the public. Noraida (centre) officiates the Hari Mesra Pelanggan PKNS at the Shah Alam Convention Centre on Sunday.
