KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 ― Putrajaya will summon North Korean envoy to Malaysia Kang Chol this morning to explain his claim that local authorities were deliberately delaying investigation into the death of Kim Jong-nam.
The Star reported that Wisma Putra is expected to release a statement after questioning Kang in Putrajaya.
Kang accused Malaysia of purposely rejecting his country’s claim for the remains of Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has dismissed the allegation, however, explaining that the case could not completed until DNA from Jong-nam’s family was obtained.
Kim was allegedly assassinated at the KLIA2 last week.
Police have arrested four people over Kim’s death and are seeking another four North Korean suspects who are believed to have fled the country for North Korea.
