NILAI, Feb 16 ― T he Home Ministry (KDN) seized 296 framed Quranic verses with errors in a seven-hour operation in Nilai 3 here, today.

Principal assistant secretary of Operation and Control Unit, Quranic Text Publication and Control Division, Shamsinar Mohd Jaafar said the seizure was worth RM59,200.

“The operation aims to identify framed Quranic verses which have errors in terms of writing, whether in its letters, line or sentence.

“The errors were not only in terms of verses but they were also shaped like vases, swords and daggers, which are not permitted,” she told reporters.

The operation at six premises involved 34 officers from the Quranic Text Publication and Control Division and 36 policemen from Nilai District Police Headquarters.

The seizure was made under Section 14(1) of the Printing of Quranic Texts Act (APTQ) 1986. ― Bernama
