NIBONG TEBAL, Sept 19 — A Nepalese factory worker died after he was stabbed during a fight here last night, police said.

Rana Kamal Ram, 37, was stabbed in the neck at a unit of the Seruling Emas Flats at about 9.30pm and died on the spot, Seberang Perai Selatan Police chief Supt Shafee Abdul Samad said today.

He also said that police had arrested a 32-year-old Nepalese to help in the investigation into the murder.

Rana Kamal and three other Nepalese who lived in the flat had alcoholic drinks and Rana Kamal and the suspect engaged in a verbal argument that turned into a fight and he was stabbed, he said.

Shafee said the two other Nepalese tried in vain to stop the fight but the suspect drew a knife and warned them not to interfere.

Rana Kamal’s body was sent to the Sungai Bakap Hospital, he added.  — Bernama
