KOTA BARU, Aug 28 ― A senior officer of a government-linked company (GLC) who was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission two weeks ago was today released on a RM300,000 bail.
The order for the release of the 47-year-old man was issued by Magistrate Ahmad ‘Adha’ Amir Yasser Amri here today.
The man, who had been in remand for 13 days since Aug 16, was arrested by MACC at his office here at 2.30 pm on Aug 15 for investigation into corruption and power abuse.
He was among three civil servants arrested by MACC in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Kelantan on that day for corruption, abuse of power and money laundering. ― Bernama
