KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 — MyWatch chairman Datuk R. Sri Sanjeevan was arrested today for allegedly using false academic qualifications after he was hit with three extortion charges.

The Star Online reported that the anti-crime activist was arrested outside Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo’s office in Medan Damansara at about 6.15pm.

“Sanjeevan is being investigated under Section 420 and Section 417 of the Penal Code for using fake academic qualifications with the intent of cheating,” Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani was quoted as saying.

Sanjeevan claimed trial last month and earlier this month to three charges of extortion in Negri Sembilan, Pahang and Kuala Lumpur.
