MIRI, Aug 18 ― Derrona Joseph, an 11-year-old girl who was abducted by her brother-in-law, has been found safe by a search party 50 hours after she was reported missing. According to The Star, Joseph was still in her school uniform when she was found at about 3.30 pm today.

The daily also reported that Joseph was found tied up in a forested area on the highway stretch between the Miri bypass and the Miri-Bintulu trunk road.

Joseph’s ordeal began on Tuesday when she did not return home from school. Her elder brother lodged a police report after efforts to locate her at her usual waiting place at the school compound failed.

Joseph was seen getting into a car, which was later found abandoned in the outskirts of the city.

The suspect, Julian Sabong, was arrested at the scene.
