PETALING JAYA, June 8 — A painter car was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today for possessing materials related to IS militant group in his house.
Muhammad Aizam Mat Zin,39, allegedly possessed 65 pieces of A3 sized paper and three pieces of A4 self-adhesive paper relating to IS at No. 27, Jalan PUJ 1/14, Taman Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan, Selangor at 6.20am on March 22.
The charge under Section 130JB (1)(a) of Penal Code provides for up to seven years jail sentence or a fine, and forfeiture of the materials upon conviction.
No plea was recorded after the charge against him was read before Magistrate Salamiah Salleh.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Fatimah Yahya while Muhammad Aizam was represented by counsel Mohd Fadhly Yaacob.
The court set July 29 for mention of the case. — Bernama
