KOTA BARU, April 14 — Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob successfully went through a minor surgery following a haemorrhage on the left side of his head, at the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) Kubang Kerian, here today.

His press secretary, Mohd Asri Mat Daud said the Mentri Besar was now resting and was under observation by specialist doctors.

“Please pray that he (Ahmad) recovers speedily to be back with the people,” he said in a statement, here today.

On the cause of the haemorrhage, he said the Mentri Besar only realised that there was a haemorrhage several days ago.

Ahmad was admitted to HUSM at 11.30am yesterday.

Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak prayed for the best of health for the Kelantan Mentri Besar following the surgery.

“Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), I am told that Kelantan MB (Mentri Besar) Datuk Ahmad Yakob had successfully undergone surgery. May Allah SWT grant him the best of health,” he said in his latest twitter account today. — Bernama
