KUALA PILAH, April 11 — The Sessions Court here today postponed to April 25 the hearing of a woman charged with severing her husband’s penis.
Judge Nariman Badruddin postponed the case following an application by deputy public prosecutor Nik Azlan Hakim Nik Mahmood that he needed time to complete several documents on the case.
Lawyer J. Gunamalar, representing Fatimah Abdullah, 51, requested the process of getting the documents to be expedited as the case had been dragging on for two months.
Fatimah had initially pleaded guilty to the charge, but changed her plea to not guilty last February 22.
She was charged with committing the offence on Pakistani national Umar Rahman, 44, with a knife about 1.20am at a house in Batu Kikir, Jempol, last Jan 20.
She was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum jail term of 20 years and fine or caning. — Bernama
