KUCHING, March 31 — Following are some interesting facts of the the upcoming 11th Sarawak state election:

> The number of constituencies has increased from 71 to 82.

> Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem is leading the Barisan Nasional to a state election for the first time.

> Two long-time BN state assemblymen – Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu and Datuk Gramong Juna – who have served nine terms each – are not contesting. They will be replaced by their children, Gerald Rentap ak Alfred Jabu and Allan Siden ak Gramong.

> It has been announced that Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas will contest in Bukit Saban, raising speculation that he will replace Alfred Jabu as a deputy chief minister. — Bernama
