JOHOR BARU, March 9 — A veterinary assistant was fined RM20,000 in default six months jail when he pleaded guilty today to corruptly receiving RM10,800 under the Livestock Interest-free Loan (Pintaf) programme, two years ago.
Roslizan Hassan, 45, who worked at the Office of Veterinary Services in Kulai paid the fine.
He allegedly committed the offence at Malayan Banking Berhad, Jalan Intan 2/1, Taman Intan, Kluang, by receiving RM10,800 from Gembala Utama Sdn Bhd’s chief operating officer, Zaiton Ibrahim Mohd Zahir, on Jan 13, 2014, between 9.15am to 4.30pm.
The money was transferred to his wife, Saadiatul Ramniza Mohd Saad’s account at the aforesaid bank.
Roslizan is charged with receiving the money as an inducement not to supply three Brahman breed cattle studs to breeders known to Zaiton Ibrahim, involved in the Pintaf programme in 2013.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy public prosecutor Noor Fazlin Hamdan prosecuted. — Bernama
