TELUPID, Feb 3 — A Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch staff died after being struck on the head near the bank today.

Beluran district police chief Supt Sivanatan Velautham said the victim, identified as Henry Edoos, 43, was found bleeding from the head and face by passers-by at the stairs of the double-storey shophouse occupied by BSN staff here at about 6.30 am.

He said initial investigations found the victim had gone out for a drink in Telupid town at 7.30pm, yesterday.

The victim was believed to have been attacked by unidentified people on his way back home at about 4 am, he said in a statement today.

According to him, the victim was unconscious when he was sent to a Health Clinic in Telupid town.

The victim died on the way to Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan and initial investigations found the cause of death was bleeding in the brain after being struck by a hard object, he said. — Bernama
