KOTA KINABALU, Nov 9 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has praised Barisan Nasional component Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) for having played what he described as an effective role in stabilising national politics and administration.

Najib, who is the BN chairman, said the role played by PBS was important in making Malaysia a successful, progressive, prosperous and peaceful nation. 

“I am deeply touched and grateful to the PBS leadership and members for their support to me as the BN chairman,” he said in a message in the souvenir programme issued in conjunction with the PBS 30th annual conference from November 13 to 15.

Najib said the BN leadership would continue to provide encouragement and support for the success of all BN component parties, including PBS, to enable them play an effective role in national development.

The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the PBS and its leadership helmed by its president, ‘Huguan Siou’ Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, for yet another successful annual conference of the party.

He expressed the hope that the PBS would continue its noble struggle in the interest of the new generation and success of all communities in Malaysia. — Bernama
