KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — A group of about 100 family members and friends of kidnapping victims gathered in front of Bukit Aman yesterday to seek an explanation from the police about the disappearance of their loved ones.

Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo said some of the cases involved kidnappers masquerading as policemen.

He said eight people were abducted in three separate cases in his constituency.

“Three years ago, there was a case in Seri Serdang. I lodged a police report but till today there has been no explanation,” he said.

Gobind said he had brought the issue up in parliament but to no avail.

“The people are curious because this can happen to anyone anywhere,” he said.

“What we need is an answer on what is being done as a matter of public interest.”

Gobind said one of the alleged cases — involving Manogaran Raja Krishnan and Ganasan Vyapuri — was captured on CCTV.

He said the two were last seen in Taman Sri Gombak on Aug 22 after several men, who had identified themselves as policemen, confronted them.

Another case involved club owner K. Gobalaguru, who was reportedly abducted at the Mirama Hotel car park in Jalan Maharajalela on Feb 2, 2013 by four unidentified men posing as policemen.

His wife, Satiavani Vadivelu, 50, said she was losing faith in the authorities.

“It’s been two years, eight months and 11 days since my husband was taken away,” she said.

“I don’t know where my husband is and the police do not give feedback except to say ‘it’s under investigation’.

“We followed everything the police asked us to do. All we want are answers.

“It is difficult to describe the pain my family is going through.”

A third case, which took place on April 4,  2011, involved three cousins — Dilipan Palanivel, 21, Madhan Nadarajah, 27, and Jeyasingam Gopal, 32 — and two friends, Gobi Krishna Ramasamy, 27, Ari Kumar Manyam, 27, who were believed to have been kidnapped in the car park at Jaya Jusco in Seri Kembangan.

Ari’s wife claimed she received a telephone call from the kidnappers two days later asking for RM1 million.
