KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 — Delay in completing upgrading works of the water supply system will affect 103 areas in Petaling and Kuala Lumpur experiencing scheduled water disruption.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) said today, the delay involved replacing the inlet valve at Bukit Gasing suction tank and the by-pass valve to Bukit Gasing pump house in Petaling Jaya, due to unexpected technical issues.

“Delay in upgrading water supply in the affected area means it will take a longer time to complete the work,” said Corporate Affairs Division executive director Priscilla Alfred in a statement.

The 78 Petaling areas affected include Taman Lian Hoe, Batu 3 to Batu 8 Jalan Klang Lama, Taman Bukit Indah, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Bandar Tasek Selatan, Pantai Dalam, Bandar Baru Bukit Jalil and Kuchai Lama.

The 25 Kuala Lumpur areas affected include Sungai Besi RMAF Base, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Jalan Wisma Putra, Jalan Bukit Petaling, Persiaran Syed Putra, Taman Seputeh, KL Sentral and Brickfields.

Alfred said to reduce the inconvenience of users, Syabas will continue to provide emergency water supply via lorry tankers.
