ALOR STAR, April 9 — “I am not satisfied, I want the mandatory death sentence (for whoever took my daughters’ life), if not, a punishment that is very severe,” said a father whose three daughters were found murdered two years ago.
The High Court here today had sentenced Mohd Firdaus Mohd Faridul, 20, to 18 years jail for causing the death of one of the three siblings, Noor Syafikah Nadia Rusdi, 14, at an abandoned paddy field in Kampung Alor Senibong, Mukim Tajar, here on November 29, 2013.
The father, Rusdi Rani, 40, said he and his wife were living in darkness and they had lost their sense of direction since the tragedy that snatched their daughters’ lives in an instant.
“My daughters died because they were murdered, why did the killer not receive the death penalty, any parents who lost their loved ones this way will never feel satisfied even in the Hereafter,” he said when contacted by reporters here today.
The body of Noor Syafikah Nadia was found in the paddy field in Alor Senibong at 3.45pm on November 30, 2013, after she was reported missing along with her two sisters, Nur Izzati Husna Rusdi, 12, and Puteri Nurul Akma Rusdi, three, a day earlier.
The bodies of the two other girls were found at about 4pm on December 1 by a river in Kampung Padang Tani, Langgar, about 3.5km from where the other body was recovered.
The three sisters had reportedly ridden a motorcycle at about 7.30 pm on November 29 to visit a friend of Noor Syafikah Nadia in nearby Kampung Gelam, but did not return home.
Rusdi and his wife are still traumatised by the tragedy and cannot not stop thinking about it every single day.
“If I am gone, I do not know what will happen to my wife, may be she could lose her sanity, as for now, I am the one who keeps giving her the motivation so that she could hold on,” he said.
He said until today, his wife would cry once she reminisced about their daughters and held their belongings in her arms.
After the tragedy, they moved to Terengganu as they could not bare to remember the sweet memories they had with their beloved daughters at their home in Kedah. — Bernama
