KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 — The High Court here today struck out a suit by a former personal assistant of Malaysian comedian and actor Zizan Razak against the artiste over the freezing of Wire Fame Entertainment Sdn Bhd’s accounts.
Judge Datuk John Louis O’Hara made the decision after allowing the application by Zizan, who is the second defendant.
In the suit, Marina Juki (plaintiff) claimed that she suffered shame, but she did not show how she suffered it, he said when handing down the decision.
He said the plaintiff had also failed to obtain leave to bring the action on behalf of the third defendant as required under Section 181 A(1) Companies Act.
He ordered cost of RM10,000 to be paid to Zizan and another RM10,000 to Maybank Islamic Berhad.
On September 30 last year, Marina, 31, sued Maybank Islamic Berhad, Zizan, whose real name is Mohd Razizan Ab Razak, 31, and Wire Fame Entertainment Sdn Bhd for their part in freezing the company’s accounts.
She claimed she suffered substantial financial losses as the artistes under the company were no longer interested to renew their contracts as the frozen accounts indicated that it was facing problems.
Lawyer Harjit Sandhu represented Marina, while Zizan and Wire Fame were represented by lawyers Rishwant Singh and Jimmy Liew, respectively. — Bernama
