KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 — A 17-year-old woman was found dead along the North-South Expressway near Ipoh in Malaysia yesterday, according to The Star.
The first-year student is believed to have been killed by her male companion.
The Star reported that a police spokesman said witnesses saw the teenager exit the driver’s seat of a black Proton Perdana after it stopped by the side of the road before slumping to the ground.
“The suspect then came out of the car and dragged the deceased to the side of the road before escaping into a nearby jungle,” the spokesman said.
The teen was was found with her throat slit on the southbound lane at KM228.2 in Bukit Gantang near Taiping, police said.
It is believed that the suspect was apprehended by passers-by when he returned to the car to retrieve a mobile phone, according to The Star.
“The deceased was rushed to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for treatment but died at about 2pm,” the police spokesman said. — Reuters
