KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Former Deputy Prime Minister Tun Musa Hitam said the radical move to revive struggling Malaysia Airlines can only be a success if those handling the revamp were brave enough to see the plan through while staying innovative at the same time.

A Bernama report quoted him as saying that those executing the plans should be allowed room to think out of the box.

“I wish for the sake of the country, this time we have learnt from past mistakes. The biggest challenge is to do it right. It involves patience, tolerance and the ability to get the right feedback,” he was quoted by Bernama as saying today.

Pointing out that it involved national pride above all with the current circumstances, Musa was quoted as saying that it was crucial to regard MAS as a business proposition.

He added that MAS could focus on the welfare aspect of its business after profits start to come in.

Musa also further urged the union to be actively involved with the revamp process.
