KLANG, Aug 24 — Angeline Premila Rajandaran will always be remembered by neighbours as a person who never failed to flash a smile.

One of her neighbours, T. Kishen, said Angeline would not hesitate to speak to him even though they were not close.

The 20-year-old student who lives opposite Angeline's house said although he had only spoken to her on a few occasions, she was always there to lend an ear.

“She was friendly, kind-hearted and beautiful,” he said.

“When news of the downing of MH17 broke, I thought she was not on board and I was sad to learn later that she was on the plane.”

Batu Nilam 23 Residents Association chairman Low Chee Kim said Angeline and her family were wonderful neighbours.

“Her parents — Rajandaran Gopal and Cindy Ang — were always there to lend a helping hand. Whenever we needed help, they were there for us,” he said.

Low said Angeline was always seen leaving the gated community in her uniform in a Malaysia Airlines shuttle van.

“Each time she left, she would ask if the guards had eaten. If she was wearing her sunglasses, she would make sure she removed them when she spoke,” he said.

He said that when the association heard about the tragic incident, many of its members went to her house to be with the family.

Committee member Koh York Kian said he remembers Angeline as the perfect hostess when he visited the family during Chinese New Year this year.

"She was polite and always smiling," he said.

Another neighbour, Lim Soon Seng, said: “She was beautiful and kind. Memories of her will never be erased.”
